How to Enable and Disable Avast Game Mode

Avast game mode is a feature which optimizes your computer’s configurations to be used while playing games. It turns off notifications and pauses updates to help you focus on the game. It also my site adjusts PC settings so that gaming takes precedence over other applications that could drain your CPU or slow performance.

You need a lot of resources to play games, including CPU, RAM MEMORY and GPU. Other programs or recording processes could divert these resources from your gaming program, making it slow down or even crash. Avast game mode permits you to focus solely on video games by temporarily shutting down background processes and advising you of any interruptions.

It also reduces the impact of antivirus updates and scans on the performance of your gaming by detecting when you are playing in a game and suspending them to stop interruptions. This is an advantage for gamers who do not want to have their gameplay interrupted to do maintenance or be infected by a virus.

To enable avast’s game mode to enable it, just launch the antivirus program and click on the menu button in the upper right corner of the Windows taskbar. Select “Settings” and then turn the switch next. Enable Game Mode on. A special icon will appear on the system tray when Game Mode is enabled.

You can also access an individual page in the Avast software to add specific programs to the list and have them automatically switched into Game Mode whenever you play them. You may want to disable the game mode feature of Avast at some point because of one of many reasons. You can do this easily via the Avast graphical user interface, and we’ll explain how in this article.
